Regional Geographical Information Network in Southwest Finland

Lounaistieto / Information services / Regional Geographical Information Network in Southwest Finland

Lounaispaikka is a regional geographical information (GI) network, operating since 2002. We gather spatial datasets and publish them in our online map service. We thrive to encourage the usage of geographical information through networking, arranging cources and events. We can assist you in GIS (geographical information systems) and SDI (spatial data infrastructure) related questions.

Our actions are provided by Regional Council of Southwest FinlandRegional Council of SatakuntaTurku cityTurku university and Åbo Akademi together with Yrkeshögskolan Novian. In addition to these we are constantly collaborating with Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment, Provincial museum of Southwest Finland, Environmental Institute of Finland, National Land Board and other regions, municipalities and regional organisations.

In our map service you can browse through hundreds of regional datasets.
We support the local municipalities and regional councils with INSPIRE directive related issues, contact us to learn more!
We offer cources to utilize GI software and datasets. Our network has expertise with spatial data, remote sensing and high level analysis. Share us your problems and lets find solutions together!
